Dose Information
How does CARE Dose 4D work?
CARE Dose 4D combines two types of tube current
modulation:
1) Axial tube current modulation:
Based on a single Topogram (a.p. or lateral) the atten-
uation profile along the patient’s long axis is measured
in direction of the projection and estimated for the per-
pendicular direction by a sophisticated algorithm.
Example of lateral and a.p. attenuation profile evalu-
ated from an a.p. Topogram.
Based on these attenuation profiles axial tube current
profiles (lateral and a.p.) are calculated. The correla-
tion between attenuation and tube current is defined
by an analytical function which results in an optimum
of dose and image noise in every slice of the scan.
